My Necessary Notions
Hi, my name is Thelma Forrest and I'm addicted to sewing and quilting.  I belong to several guilds and I find that I have to sew everyday!  I design my own patterns and give trunk shows and teach classes.

  2. Golden Stars

This is a Lap Quilt I designed using the Strippy Stars Ruler from Creative Grids. I made nine large 9 1/2" stars and 14 small 3 1/2" stars and set them on the diagonal.

This Ruler lets you do so many variations. I love this one.

This is a Table Runner I designed using all eight of the Stars that the Strippy Stars Creative Grids Ruler makes!
I am  Thelma Forrest.
Sewing has always been like meditation for me.    Sometimes, someone will comment  - "It must have taken a long time to sew that" and I can't really tell them how long it took, because I tend to lose track of time when I'm sewing!
I am available to teach classes.  If  you have a pattern you need help with, I'm happy to help you figure it out.  I love making bags as well as quilts and clothes!  I just finished making a white bathing suit for my daughter.  I love to give trunk shows and can entertain and educate quilters and sewists alike.
I had the good fortune to buy out a quilt shop and so my fabric stash is a little out of control.  I recently read "The Magical Art of Tidying Up" by Marie Kondo, so I'm thinking about re-organizing my fabrics.  But just as soon as I get them looking all pretty -- I plan another quilt and then three quarters of my fabric winds up laying around on every vertical surface.  I wonder if I could write a book about NOT TIDYING UP???
